Lending Library

What is the Library?

We are a subscription library with low annual rates that allow a generous period of loan for books off the shelves, while also allowing access to the reference section and newspaper collections for research and browsing.

Our librarians are friendly and helpful, as well as being able to assist with inquiries about any facet of the collection. Please call in at the library, 117 Sturt Street to join, or phone (03) 5331 3042 or send a message.

Borrowing

When you enroll you may borrow any books from the shelves that are designated as available for loan. This includes the latest novels, fiction and non-fiction, as well as some selected early publications, post 1950.

Please note that the library does not provide an inter-library loans service, but members, living remotely, are welcome to forward requests for service or research on particular items or extracts from publications.

Book Sales

Now and again the collection is reviewed and some surplus, duplicate or non-current titles are made available to collectors and members. Most of these are still in good condition and worthy of inspection. There are titles from all categories, including both fiction and non-fiction.

New aquisitions mean that there is now a good selection for sale at attractive prices. See the displays in the library for titles of interest. Please ask our librarians for current listings.
